Serving The Community
Tanya has been part of this community for many years, working tirelessly to make it a better place. She started out volunteering through the JROTC program at Ashe County High School and is now active with the Public Schools Strong Initiative and always willing to reach out in her community to identify the problems and seek out solutions. Tanya is an active volunteer always looking for new opportunities to serve her community through fundraisers, animal food collection for Ashe County Animal Control, collection and donation of menstrual products to Ashe Really Cares, participation in the Rights Rally for Reproductive Rights, and many other activities.
United By A Common Goal
Tanya knows the value of being connected. That's why she is running for County Commissioner to bring positive change to the working class, rural folks that call Ashe County their home! This is demonstrated in her participation in the campaign for safe, affordable housing that Down Home NC put forth to the county commissioners in October of 2023. She is also dedicated to seeking methods to draw in business to Ashe County that will pay workers a living wage. Tanya is also dedicated to looking in the future to anticipate issues that will face the county that will require action now to mitigate problems later, such as the rising age of the average citizen creating a need for enhanced and advanced health care services than what we currently have as well as more options for housing to house the older generations as they age and need specialty care. Also, the consistent growth of Ashe will require more housing, services, infrastructure, etc. All of these additions will require bold, innovative leaders to fight for them, and Tanya is just that person.

Tanya can't win this race without your help. Word-of-mouth, phone banking, canvassing, placing a sign in your yard, and donating are all ways of helping us achieve our goals of a better more just Ashe County that works for all! So, come on in Ashe County We've got work to do!
